A northern vision.

I painted this work in 2009 to further explore the themes in “Angry Trees“. It is part of the private collection of Shawn Adamsson, who selected it from all the available works in 2009 as his 40th birthday present. (Happy birthday old man!)

The image to the right represents a small detail from the waterline on the right-hand side of the painting. It highlights the highly dimensional approach to my landscape painting which relies on creating a white textured surface which is then coloured using several layers of tinted glazes.

I actually encourage gallery patrons to interact with my work by actually exploring the surface with their fingertips. As of yet I have not received any feedback from vision-impaired art-lovers, but look forward to that day.
