Huron shore

At many places along the Lake Huron shoreline, such as Inverhuron, the bedrock lies exposed on the edge of the water, below the green, soupy water that extends out to the cliff-like drop at the edge of the deep blue.

Huron at the Pinery

Afternoon on the shore of Lake Huron at the Pinery. Dreamlike, the horizon is tobacco stained with the emissions from Chemical Valley to the southwest. The eastern shore of Lake Huron has a sandy bottom that is churned up by the waves in the summer breeze, and the silt and algae stain the water green. Offshore, where the water deepens sharply, the lake is a shadowy blue.
