This painting is based on a blurry night-time photo taken as a reference for the finished work.

Before the sidewalk boulevard became a riot of flowering nightshades planted by my partner, it was a spectacular pride of dandelions which I had been (un)cultivating for years.

Regrettably, the day after the reference photo had been shot, the city decided that my inspiration was an eye-sore and mowed them down. (Unless, of course, the neighbours were responsible and not the city.) Regardless, I am glad I got the photo in time.
