This piece, intentionally a strong visual companion to “Event Horizon”, is a meditation on quantum uncertainty. The painting depicts a diagrammatic hydrogen atom—the simplest with only one proton and one electron. The proton is the center of the painting and the circle is a notional boundary which  marks the edge of the atom. Within this space, but never by the center, the electron exists non-locally, it’s location spread out throughout the atom as a cloud of probabilities. Larger image.
